    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Developing and implementing methods for detecting and quantifying adulterants in industrial products, ensuring quality assurance and consumer protection. Utilising bioinformatics and lab-based skills to develop molecular tests for assuring high-quality standards in natural products and medicines. Conduct research and development of DNA-based techniques for the identification and authentication of medicinal plants and phytomedicines. Manage laboratory operations, including stock control and maintenance of sample inventories. Applied specific skills in molecular techniques such as DNA extraction, PCR, gel electrophoresis, DNA sequence analysis, and qPCR to support research and testing processes.
