Overview
I would complete tasks set to me by my line managers. Sometimes the work was live or sometimes it was given to us to see how we handled the materials. I found the vast majority of the work to be very intellectually stimulating.
Skills
I developed greater attention to detail and also an ability to produce work in a more concise manner.
Business Insight
It was very interesting. I learned to see how a business operates and how a law firm can help in solving their problems through a much more commercial lens.
Culture
Very friendly and positive. The trainees were always very happy to help and would be proactive in checking that I was okay. The partners were also very approachable and happy to chat.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed it a lot. I felt very settled very quickly, and made some genuine friends through other interns and employees at the firm who I am still in touch with now.
Yes
Make sure that you can demonstrate that you are genuinely passionate and interested in the firm and the role. After that, just put yourself out there and enjoy it. If you’re trying too hard people will notice.
