The Role
I enjoy the work and really like what the company stands for. Knowing that what they do genuinely has the welfare of each graduate as its central priority is extremely refreshing and it also means I'm far happier to give it my all when I come in on a dreary Monday morning.
I'm always given credit and praise for my work, am left to work productively on my own terms and am always invited or encouraged to get involved with new projects and training.
Full training was given when I first got in here and they're still always there to answer questions or queries. They are also easy going about outside responsibilities and when I was struggling to get my dissertation done they didn't blink an eyelid about me heading home to start panic-writing. Regular training and company meetings are held to keep you updated with fresh techniques, goals and bonus incentives. Everyone is very much on the same wavelength and their concern for their employees is reflected in how their priorities as a company.
There is always work to do and you are left with a clear idea what can be done if you find yourself at a brief loose end. I was left to work at my own pace from the off and trusted to fill time where they may not have been around to guide me.
In terms of my job role I am left to 'run the show' as I wish as long as results are filtering through. i.e. writing articles is a large responsibility, which are trusted automatically as high standard and sent straight to clients without being proofed or checked.
I have gained invaluable work experience for which I was very grateful to be paid for. It's opened my eyes to both marketing and recruitment as career paths and improved my writing and social media presence and proficiency immeasurably.
The Company
Chatty, casual but productive.
training is given as soon as you walk in so you know exactly where you stand and why... plus sitting on the marketing desk means you always have access to help, guidance and support as and when you need it.
They were clear from the beginning my help was to be returned by showing me the ins and outs of the trade so that i could get the highest level of work experience from what I do and access to as many opportunities as possible along the way. I've never felt limited or sidelined for my potential to contribute or progress within the company.

I'm welcome to stay as long as I like and feel confident if a role elsewhere within the company came up I would be genuinely considered as a candidate.
The Culture
There's a nice social area beside the kitchen and a patio outside which catches the sun so plenty of opportunity to meet and mix with other departments at lunch. It's a relatively small company so everyone's extremely accommodating and friendly
Brighton can be expensive, especially for rent but with such beautiful surroundings and a great atmosphere within the city it is totally worth it to be beside the sea.
Diverse, lively and definitely worth exploring
monthly pub trips, nights out and we've just invested in a bbq ready for the summer.
