Overview
• Understanding and practising an Agile way of working. • Carrying out the back-end development of a core enterprise system. • Training and working with HTML, CSS, Telerik, C#, JavaScript, and many more. • Meeting with stakeholders to discuss system requirements. • Using Jira, Kanban, and GitHub. • Pair programming with other team members.
Skills
- Learnt/adopted the Agile way of working. - Immense training on C#. This also went hand in hand with my software development skills being developed.
Responsibilities
I was given work that is actually being contributed to the improvement of the company. We were given the work at the same basis as full-time employees. This showed the trust the company had towards us to give such responsibility.
Support & Guidance
There was support and guidance available anytime it was needed. From both my own team as well as teams in other department as I was interested in their work.
Culture
The company culture and general atmosphere is extremely comfortable. All employees are very welcoming and kind. There is heavy influence on networking as there are many social events throughout the year.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed my placement quite a lot. It was an amazing experience. I had learnt a lot about the different career routes I could take whilst expanding on my skills as a software developer. All team me members and the IT department are very welcoming and always open for a chat.
Yes
It is an extremely welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. As long as you are trying your best and delivering what is needed you will have a great time.
