Overview
Given a specific client project, I would work in a smaller team : - contacting client representatives to obtain contextual information to use for tasks at hand - creating roadmaps and plans to achieve set goals - implementing project work i.e working on a tool to progress work, create deliverable documents etc. - create documentation and presentations on work being done - present progress (presentations) to relevant stakeholders - attend meetings to share progress and understand overall timelines and requirements
Skills
Yes. I learnt and developed teamwork, organisation, presentation, clear verbal and written communication, process modelling, robotic process automation, project design, leadership, analysis and networking skills amongst others.
Responsibilities
Yes, I was given a lot of responsibility. After a month of working I had gained topic specific knowledge which led me to be a technical representative of the topic in my team. I was in charge of maintaining the tool relating to it and ensuring it was error free. I had to contact other subject matter expects in the organisation when trouble shooting which was ultimately a lot of responsibility.
Support & Guidance
I had good support, having an internal mentor and 2 placement group leads that assisted me with any issues I had. I also had a line manager for each project I did who supported me on a dad to day.
Culture
I really liked the company culture which involved a lot of internal events both academic and cultural. I was able to form a good friendships with some graduates and apprentices through internal hackathon events and game socials. Overall, it was a welcoming environments and everyone was always willing to share opportunities or information relating to your areas of interest.
Your Impressions
I felt like a full employee and it (corny as it sounds) felt like home. I gained and lot of invaluable skills and made great connections. I was able to engage in meaningful work and have fun whilst doing it.

Just be confidently yourself. They truly accept you for your enthusiasm, quirks and ambitious goals and interests.
