Overview
My role as a tax assistant was very insightful into the Business world. I was privileged to be involved in processes such as corporation return with PESM, partial exemption.
Skills
I was able to add to the business acumen I held. I was able to improve my Excel skills as well as my IT skills as I was required to use Excel to create journals and analyse data, and use the accounting software SAP to navigate, view invoices and post journals.
Responsibilities
I was given enough responsibility for me to learn and improve but was not overly loaded with duties which overwhelmed me and therefore hindered my progress.
Support & Guidance
I recieved 100% support from my line manager who was excellent. I was able to request help from the rest of the team at any time and everyone was willing to help with anything I didn’t understand or needed help with.
Culture
The working environment was amazing. I have never felt so included and welcomed and the relationship between everyone in the office was great. Everyone was friendly and always stopped by to ask how things were going. Occasionally we had conversations about things outside of work which made things very fun.
Your Impressions
I loved it. I recieved great support to learn and it was a very good learning experience being in a real life business setting.
Yes
It’s a great university. You make your experience so if you get involved and want to make progress, you’ll need to search the right areas. Then things get interesting!
