Overview
On a daily basis, I would have meetings with my team members to help with delegating work tasks which we would then go off and do. These tasks often included contacting the client for documentation, conducting sampling procedures, checking for errors and much more
Skills
Over the course of the internship I have developed key skills in excel, dealing with foreign exchange and communication. I have also become much more confident in my leadership and public speaking skills as I had to work alongside a team to create a high quality presentation for a client
Responsibilities
I was given a fair amount of responsibility during the internship. I knew what tasks I needed to get done and how much time should be allocated to work on those tasks. I was also responsible for ensuring I was prioritising tasks accordingly. Even with tasks that were much more challenging there was still a lot of guidance and support provided to help you get everything done to a high standard
Support & Guidance
As previously stated, there was a lot of guidance provided which was instrumental in my development as an intern. Everyone at the firm was very polite and eager to help me in any way that they could. I never felt afraid to ask any silly questions or make mistakes as I always knew that there was someone there to help
Culture
The culture and atmosphere was quite relaxed but still very professional. Everyone at the firm was quite happy to be there and shared very positive experiences about being at the firm which was reassuring in the first week of being there.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed the internship. It was a perfect way to start of my professional career as I always felt supported at every step of the way. The firm provided many opportunities to socialise and network with other interns which has helped me make valuable connections. I highly recommend working with this firm
Yes
The one piece of advice I’d give is to be confident in yourself and your abilities. The interviews and the application process can be quite daunting but be yourself. They provide really good advice for how to further your career or highlight areas that you might need to have a closer look at which will help you become a better professional in the long run
