Overview
There was an online introduction on the first day where we learnt about the company and completed some activities. We also had the opportunity to speak to partners. On the two days in the office we shadowed associates and completed tasks similar to what those employed would also have to complete.
Skills
It gave me the opportunity to learn how to use new programming services and also developed my communications skills. Both being able to communicate with the associates and partners we were able to meet and also learning the process of preparing a presentation.
Business Insight
As we were specifically in the Risk department we specifically learnt about the roles in that sector and focused mainly on TDA. So I was able to learn specifically about the different roles within the technology department with a hands on experience. Through this we were also able to learn a lot about the business as we were able to ask many questions throughout the placement.
Culture
It was very enjoyable and I felt very comfortable during the placement. All employees were very friendly and welcoming and so it felt like a very enjoyable experience to be able to learn as much about the business and the roles in the short amount of time we had.
Your Impressions
I thoroughly enjoyed the experience as we were very involved and the placement was very well planned and though out. It was also delivered through a very enjoyable experience and I was able to gain a lot of insight as we got involved in many aspects of the day to day running as well as also being involved in business wide activities, which were delivered well.
Yes
I would advice others to relax and to try their best. All those that I encountered throughout the whole application and placement experience are very friendly and as a whole the application experience was very pleasant. I would also look at the material that PwC provide on their websites as I found that very helpful during the process.
