The Role
Really enjoyed it - lots of variety in the work, site visits, presentations and people were very friendly!
Only there for one week so a little difficult to develop strong relationships when everyone is busy with their own work. Got on very well with my graduate mentor. Felt that they appreciated work that I had done for them and they gave the time for feedback.
My mentor was well prepared, briefed me on the department and the day-to-day work that they do, and spent time explaining tasks. At the end they made suggestions for improvement which will be useful for future internships.
Most of the time there was a job to be done for someone in the team. On top of that there were presentations to attend and social events.
Again as only a week long placement there wasn't a great deal of responsibility given but there were a few tasks that could be done.
Currently on a gap year so not sure how it will help my masters yet. Has helped me a great deal in other work placements though!
The Company
Very busy atmosphere, always something going on and everyone was very friendly.
Considering it was the first time the insight week had been run it went very well and was well organised. Lots of events were planned for us so that we could learn more about the business and get to know some of their employees.
They had spent time giving us presentations on the business areas and a lunch with the fee-earners.
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
Throughly enjoyed my time at Savills and would love a place on their graduate scheme.
The Culture
Quite hard to get to know people well in the week, but there were a few of us who got on really well and who I have kept in contact with.
Drinks in London are always going to be expensive!
Lots of good bars in the west end.
Other than a drinks event that had been organised with graduates there wasn't really the opportunity to get involved in any sports events etc..
