Overview
As a summer intern, I had the opportunity to shadow an associate in her meetings with her team where they work on a client project to enhance the client's HR and workforce strategy. I was assigned to help them with slides and decks that will be presented to the client. I also actively help other colleagues with their research and deck preparation. In addition to shadowing and lending hand to my colleagues, PwC has assigned a project for all interns to help an organization with their challenges and problems from arranging a meeting with the client, finding out the core problem to come up with solutions. To conclude, on a daily basis, my work revolve around deck preparation, researching and meetings.
Skills
Yes, definitely ! I have gained a deeper understanding about HR, effective workforce and people performance. I have also sharpen my collaboration and presentation skills. I have learned how to utilize the Spreadsheet the most when I had to cross check some information and summarize it in a simpler form.
Responsibilities
I were given a reasonable amount of responsibility. It is not too little that hinder me from learning new things and it is not too much that demotivate me from working. I have a career coach and a buddy that always support me throughout my internship.
Support & Guidance
I have a career coach that always support me with my needs and giving me advise and suggestions on how to make the most out of my internship. He always make some time for me if I ever need and there is always a weekly catch up to see how I am doing. I also have a buddy that had generously introduced me to her team and show me the work they do.
Culture
I love the culture ! Everyone is very open and kind and always ready to lend a hand. There are no cubicles or personal office room. Everyone are free to sit anywhere in the department area. This allow us to engage and network with everyone in the office despite their level. Additionally, they have a very flexible working location. We can choose to either work from home or in the office.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed my time there and looking forward to joining the firm if I had the chance to.
Yes
Always be curious, ask questions and be open to learn new things. You'll never know what you're capable of until you give it a shot :)
