Overview
My role was to conduct and write up a complete medical file review on the patients that would be referred into our service. I would also complete the referrals and complete the discharge of the patient from the service when they eventually left. I also administered cognitive assessments to patients as well as scoring and giving the feedback of the scoring to my supervisor. On a day to day basis my job role would also change depending on what actions needing completing with the patient. I also had opportunities to shadow other disciplines such as physiotherapy SALT and occupational therapy.

Bedside manner, critical thinking, problem solving, medical note taking.
Responsibilities
I was giving an adequate amount of responsibility as I did have 1:1 with patients which meant ensuring looking after their wellbeing.
Support & Guidance
I received a weekly supervision which provided an opportunity to resolve any issues I was having and to plan tasks for the following week.
Culture
The atmosphere was centered around care and it was very altruistic and empathetic. I felt very welcomed and a part of the team.

I enjoyed my placement very much. It has made me feel very competent and completing this as a job role in the future.
