Overview
Activities surrounding the receipt of adverse event reports which includes entering data from the reports into a safety system. As the year went on my day to day activities shifted more towards projects aimed at improving processes involved in adverse event intake.
Skills
I learnt time management, communication (written/verbal), planning, project management, creating/delivering presentations confidently, Microsoft Excel, data analysis, attention to detail. My managers also went through my CV and did a mock interview and gave feedback which prepared me for future job applications.
Responsibilities
I was given lots of responsibility and was allowed to work autonomously without oversight from supervisors, however help and support were always available when needed. My managers involve me in as many projects as possible and I got really good exposure to pharmacovigilance overall.
Support & Guidance
I completed my integrated masters within the same year as the placement and I had extensive support throughout this. My managers supported me with any coursework and allowed time for me to complete the work around deadlines. Could not have asked for better support during my final year of uni.
Culture
The company culture was very positive and diverse. Everyone is more than happy to answer any questions and help you learn.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed my placement to a large extent, I gained invaluable experiences and skills for a career in the pharma industry.
