The Role
I found it a struggle to begin with but slowly got used to the role afterwards
The job had real responsibilities, so I was valued very much by my colleagues. They were all very welcoming as well
If I ever had any questions about a job or the role itself my manager was very happy to give advice. He was approachable
There are some days where I had little to do, but most days I was pretty busy. Emails with work get sent to you quite often, but just some days there were none. But there is always something to be working on whether it is more analysis on older work or improving the processes of a job
I was given quite a high level of responsibility as I was in charge of a large project involving employees tax returns for the whole company. I also had to approve purchase requisition with large values such as £50,000 and more in some cases
The job doesnt really relate to any of my degree, but I feel I have learnt a lot about business in my time here. I have gained experience of what working in an office environment is like.
The Company
The general office atmopshere was great with everyone in my office being friendly and welcoming
The placement set up is very organised with lots of help if required
There is a lot of opportunity for training and to improve your skills.
Subsidised Canteen
The company itself concentrates on the undergraduate program. There are very few graduate roles so in terms of getting a job after placement, it seems unlikely
The Culture
Because there are so many undergraduates at Vauxhall the social scene is very good. Many of us live close by and as a result do stuff most weekends. There is always something going on if you want to get involved
It was good! The area itself is quite cheap with the house I'm staying in being a lot cheaper than
The nightlife in luton is fine. There are three clubs in the town with a few bars. You are however only around 20 minutes away from london so its not too bad
There are a few opportunities if you want to.
