Overview
My role was to assistant the Sunlight team in helping to launch a brand new product in Vietnam. I would often have meetings with our team in Vietnam to ensure that deadlines were being met and that the product launch would go smoothly. One of my most important projects was working on a PR launch pack for the product which went out to the CEO and Directors.
Skills
I definitely learned how to prioritize tasks based on when they needed to be done and how important they were. Another skill I developed was the ability to budget. As I was working on marketing, it was important that I understood how much money was available and figure out the best ways to use this.
Responsibilities
Yes, I was responsible for a launch pack that went out to Directors and the CEO. This was my own project, where I would often lead meetings and had to reach out to multiple manufacturers to decide who would be able to create what I was envisioning.
Support & Guidance
I frequently had 1:1's with my manager and these would both be for personal and work related discussions. This allowed me to constantly get feedback throughout my internship.
Culture
It felt like everyone was in it together. I got to work with so many people from so many departments, from all over the world. And despite the company numerically being so large, it definitely felt smaller than it was.
Your Impressions
I really, really enjoyed it and can't complain about my experience. It was a great opportunity to learn more about marketing, working in an FMCG, being in an office environment, and being mentored by my manager.
Yes
Don't be afraid of showing a bit of personality. In my final interview, I spent the majority of it taking about my small podcast! I also reached out to current Unilever IP's on LinkedIn and asked them for advice which was super helpful.
