Overview
I was a student SLT in community ALD in East Renfrewshire. I saw service users from all over to assess and provide therapy on Speech, language and communication needs.
Skills
I have developed my skills in working with this client group and improved my therapy work, assessment criteria, and communication skills.
Responsibilities
I was given the responsibility to assess some service users and help out in day centres
Support & Guidance
I received lots of guidance on how to conduct certain aspects of the placement but was also given independence to make my own clinical decisions
Culture
The atmosphere was including and I felt like part of the team

I enjoyed working with a new client group and gaining experience in my communication with them. I learnt lots of new skills that I will be able to use in my future career
