The Role
The placement was a good experience. At times the work became tedious as I found myself doing the same routine every month so I had to develop ways to keep myself occupied. Overall the expereince was a very worthwhile and beneficial experience.
During the placement I felt extremely valued by my fellow colleagues. This is due to the fact that they give you responsibiliteis within the department and you are responsible for your successes and failures for the work that you produce. I also received many appraisals for the good work that I produced and this made me feel valued by the memebers within my department.
The support and guidance by management and other staff memebers was fantastic. The were very supportive in helping me settle into my role and they offered a lot of guidance when I needed help in any reports or presentations I was working on.
I was fairly busy on a daily basis but found myself many times with no work to do. This was not due to me not receiving enough work but due to the fact that I got to grips with the assignements I had to do very quickly and found ways of quickly completeing my workload.
I was given quite a lot of responsibility during the placement. I was given the responsibilty to produce reports for my departmental director, managers and network district managers. I even had to rpesent some of the work that I had to produce for them. Since I was given a role of responsibilty for my placement there was a lot of responsibilities given to me.
I developed a lot of key skills during the placement. This more down to the everyday tasks that I was doing within my job role than any training that I received, I improved my numeracy skills, excel skills, communication skills and presentation skills.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office was very vibrant and there was a lot of banter between the memebers of staff
The placement was very organised and strictured.
Peronsally I don't think very much or at all to be honest. The training was not the greatest and I had develop my skills just through work on the projects that I was given.
Sports and Social Club
Not that great to be honest. About 2 graduates from the undergraduate scheme are hire each year.
The Culture
Wasn't involved in the socials much so I couldn't give you an answer
The cost of living was decent, but the Luton area was not so great.
Have no idea.
Yh There was such as sporting activities and events held by the company
