Overview
The morning generally consisted of timetabled talks. We were assigned broader tasks by Trainee Recruitment throughout the scheme. Each of us was located in a different practice area. We were also assigned tasks by our trainee buddy contact and principal.
Skills
Yes. I developed my legal drafting skills, research skills, public speaking skills, and general communication skills in a professional setting.
Business Insight
It was interesting to learn about the different departments through our timetabled talks. I gained the deepest insight into the Litigation, Arbitration, and Investigations Practice, since that is where I was located. We also learned about some of the wider business teams, such as Innovation.
Culture
The company culture was warm, supportive, and inclusive. People were extremely friendly, taking the time to speak with us and explain their work. I also found that supervisors were approachable and committed to developing our skills.
Your Impressions
I greatly enjoyed the insight. The breadth and depth of the firm's practice areas, combined with market-leading work, a warm culture, and an entrepreneurial vision for the future, reinforced my view that I would like to work at the firm.
Yes
Work hard and find out as much as you can about the firm's practice areas, values, vision, strategy, and agile mindset framework. Also practice the firm's psychometric tests before taking the real tests.
