Overview
The role was based in the Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) branch of Lockheed Martin. The role involves: Analysing a variety of system requirements using tools such as DOORS High level meetings with system architects to design a new integration of components Discussion with external suppliers to build a engineering lab environment Working on a variety of projects on the Merlin Mk2 Helicopter Solely responsible for the development/upkeep of a lab

SysML / UML skills Understanding of the high level function of large military domains and equipment Understanding of military standards and protocols Development of problem solving and innovative thinking skills
Responsibilities
Placed on a variety of projects throughout the company. Given sole responsibility and budget to manage engineering labs and improve workstations. Allocated £50,000 project to individually seek suppliers and improve facilities Worked closely with senior level positions such as chief and deputy chief engineers In general, lots of responsibility was allocated
Support & Guidance
Fantastic work culture with an amazing support network. Everyone is very friendly and happy to help you. Assigned two mentors and atleast one supervisor/colleague to assist with work. Training was regularly recommended and suggested.
Culture
Very friendly and kind culture. Everyone is eager to help and offered their service at any point. Management is fantastic also with a very friendly and supportive line manager. I was even able to network with executives who set out time to talk to me.
Your Impressions
Amazing opportunities including abroad, great vision into various interesting facets of the company, great work-life balance with a 4 day work week, great initiatives and technical depth in the field of work. Overall very enjoyable experience.
