Overview
I work with the licensing sales team for Apparel, Accessories and Footwear across all of EMEA to provide support where needed. Often I am working on administrative tasks ensuring processes run smoothly for example managing contract amendments and submitting approvals. However, I also work creatively for example creating and delivering trend and inspiration pitches to external licensees.
Skills
I have been able to develop my use of Adobe, specifically Illustrator. I have also learnt so many skills regarding office etiquette, networking and trend forecasting.
Responsibilities
Yes, I was eased into responsibility however I was given full responsibility on some tasks and trusted with big briefs or to look after very senior/important guests at large events.
Support & Guidance
My manager was brilliant at supporting me through all the challenges of work. I was guided through the initial few weeks of the process and slowly given more and more responsibility. I know that if I have any questions I could always go to her.
Culture
Having an Intern cohort to rely on is so crucial to why the working environment at Disney is so supportive. The company is a good employer and the atmosphere of the floor/company is great. However, I know that this is not the case of all interns and some have found the environment to be not so supportive, my personal experience was just extremely positive.
Your Impressions
I loved working at Disney. I was lucky to have such a lovely and supportive team who not only provided me with a great working environment but also pushed me to explore other roles/teams to broaden my scope. I volunteered at events and met senior leadership I never thought I would be able to which all benefitted to the experience. It is a great place to do an internship as you can learn so much in such a big company and having 200 other interns makes the experience like nothing else.
Yes
Be confident in your application and ensure you read every ounce of the job description before applying/interviewing. Have questions prepared and be aware that you are not expected to know everything as an intern.
