Overview
My role involves working through the project timeline and planning all the testing accordingly. Providing weekly updates to the customer, arranging hardware for the tests, carrying out design reviews to make a change, collecting approvals and feedback from relevant departments and making sure the turbo is being delivered as per customer's required timeline.
Skills
I have immensely improved my communication skills as my role involves being the first point of contact between my company and the customer. Providing frequent project updates to the core team, communicating the timelines with the project managers and providing weekly work updates to my manager has made me a better communicator. I have also developed team working skills as we are mostly working as a part of a team, hence keeping everyone synchronized with the work plan requires great team working skills. I have become proficient in MS Suite and 3D modelling softwares.
Responsibilities
I was given complete responsibility of my projects once I completed my training which helped me grow alot in my career as I was the one providing all the project updates, carrying out tasks and making sure I deliver the project within the time frame.
Support & Guidance
I had an exceptionally great team, my managers and peers were extremely helpful from the start of the placement to the end. I could reach out to anyone at anytime and they were more than happy to help. Due to all the support from my manager, I was able to understand my role completely and became confident in my job.
Culture
The company culture is a great balance of professional while also being very comfortable. Everyone has a great relationship with each other and are very supportive. I have never felt out of place or unattended. The working culture is great, we were given the choice of hybrid working and could change our office hours as we wish. Overall, couldn't have asked for a better work experience.
Your Impressions
I have really enjoyed every bit of my placement. I used to wake up and look forward to the day at work due to the exciting projects I was working at. I was given full responsibility of my projects which pushed me to work even harder and take a project from Stage 0 to last stage within the timeframe. I have developed strong relationships with the people I work with.
