Overview
The scheme was intended to give insight to DLA Piper and the work they undertake. We met and listened to speakers from all of their practice groups as well as the DEI and sustainability teams. We also engaged in an interactive case study with the litigation team.
Skills
I have learnt many skills namely, communication, networking, teamwork, problem-solving and many more. I have also improved my advocacy skills as well as my public speaking skills through the litigation exercise.
Business Insight
It was an incredible insight into what working with DLA Piper would look like for anyone interested in commercial law. The key takeaway I had from my experience was the global reach of the business and the grand scale of DLA Piper's work.
Culture
All of the employees had incredible things to say about the firm. It is clear that the culture of the firm promotes a good work life balance and that they are committed to diversity and inclusion.
