Overview
On the first day, we received a welcome talk about the firm and programme. Then we received a panel discussion about ESG and corporate social responsibility, including the different pro bono initiatives at the firm. We then had a practice group overview in breakout rooms and then a mock litigation task. We also had an evening social organised for us. On the second day, we heard more about DEI at the firm, life as a trainee in breakout rooms, personal branding, applying to the summer programme and a closing talk.
Skills
I have learned more about the work of a trainee at the firm and its different practice groups. Additionally, we had the opportunity to practice skills such as contract reviewing in a mock litigation and mediation task. Other skills include networking, personal branding and a general passion for a legal career.
Business Insight
It was well presented and engaging, being able to engage with trainees from offices around the UK and Ireland. It made the experience unique as it felt like a connected and global firm.
Culture
Everyone was lovely and supportive. All the trainees and the early careers team were open to questions. This made the company seem very open and supportive.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed it immensely and would recommend it.
Yes
I would say to focus on the practice areas that the firm provides and demonstrate an interest in them. Additionally, a main focus is how global the firm is, so I would highlight why this is important to you.
