Overview
The event introduced Amazon, their main focuses and what qualities are important to Amazon. This was followed by a hackathon, and further information about the application process and a panel to answer our questions.
Skills
The hackathon gave me the opportunity to practice solving competitive programming questions under timed conditions that will be useful practice for software engineering interviews.
Business Insight
It was very insightful to understand what career I would like in the future and the opportunities available in Amazon and what skills I need to develop to increase my chances of securing a position in the company.
Culture
The atmosphere was very friendly and approachable. I felt comfortable asking questions and they provided detailed and helpful responses to all the questions asked. The qualities important to Amazon also resonated with the qualities I find important and resonated with me.
Your Impressions
I very much enjoyed the insight day, particularly due to the hackathon and the opportunity to engage with very fun and challenging problems. The event also provided a lot of information about Amazon and their roles which will be invaluable when applying.
