Overview
Over the 3 days we received an insight into what the primary practice areas of the firm was, as well as an insight into aspects of leveraged finance and banking. My mentor was an associate in Corporate, and he provided me with insight into the practicalities of M&A Legal Due Diligence.
Skills
During my time at the firm I have substantially developed my commercial awareness, especially in relation to the M&A market, and its mechanisms. Additionally I have received great advice on how to submit a competitive application to law firms, and the type of skillet a student should demonstrate in their applications, as well as assessment centres. I would definitely say I have become better at presenting my research in a legal capacity, and drafting legal documentation
Business Insight
My knowledge of the available roles grew while I was at the firm, being explained the firm structure briefly by associates at the firm, as well as graduate recruitment
Culture
Incredibly friendly, inclusive, and productive. I found that everyone I asked advice from was really helpful. It felt like I was speaking to really intelligent lawyers, and also genuinely nice people, and the overall atmosphere was simply amazing. It’s one of those things that you have to experience to truly understand!
Your Impressions
To the highest extent! I thought it was really well structured and informative. I really get along with my cohorts as well as the lawyers. The whole experience was simply fantastic, and I can’t recommend it enough
