The Role
Really enjoyed working at Savills, the atmosphere in the office is great. There were lots of social events to go to and events organised for us. There was the opportunity to go on site visits and go to client meetings which was valuable to gain a better understanding of the department.
They were very welcoming and really friendly. I feel that they appreciated my work that I did for them.
Unfortunately there was no graduate mentor in my team but the rest of the team was fantastic in supporting me and answering any questions I had.
At the start, a lot of people were on holiday so I wasn't too busy. This picked up in the later weeks and I generally had enough to do, particulalry when it was coupled with presentations and site visits.
The department was really good at giving me plenty of responsibility, liasing with clients and people from other organisations.
I feel that I have learnt a lot in the month that I've been here and also had the chance to experience a couple of departments so I think it will be very beneficial for my degree course. I've learnt some skills that I can take forward and picked up a lot of the terminology used.
The Company
Atmosphere was good, always something going on. Everyone willing to help. People were able to have a joke around.
The internship was very well organised, a timetable of events was given to us and we had many opportunities to meet people from around the business. We had an informal chat half way through the placement to see how we were getting on and thoughts on how we could get more out of it in the remaining time.
The half-way meeting provided an opportunity to discuss how you were getting on and ideas on how to improve for the next 2 weeks. There were also free training sessions available for excel that you could sign up to. Otherwise, the team was good at providing me with training on the job.
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
The graduate scheme is held in high acclaim and from what I have seen here and heard from graduates it seems like a fantastic place to work.
The Culture
As a group we got on extremely well, we had numerous social events, meals out and drinks.
Fairly expensive but there were a few deals to be had at restaurants and happy hours!
Lots of good bars around.
There was the opportunity to get involved with some sports events, like the property hockey tournament. Different departments had different bonding events which interns were invited to.
