The Role
My team offered me support and guidance and I felt we all built some very strong relationships. A great first full time job.
My colleagues trusted me to support them in the projects they competed day to day. They allocated certain projects for me to lead and supported me when necessary.
I had a change of management whilst on my placement and both were very helpful and supportive and cared about their team mebers. I always felt I were abel to approach them with any problems or queries that arose.
There were only a handful of time that I felt I didn't have enough work however most of the time I had to juggle plenty of tasks at the same time and felt that my days and weeks flew by. It was almost a prefect balance as I was sometimes out of the office on events too which was nice.
I was given the opportunity to organise an event from the first brief right through until completion. Other than this I was to support my manager hence the responsibility was shared throughout my placement.
I have gained many skills from my placement. They are completely transferable and I will be able to use them later on in any career. This placement has definitely been worthwhile!
The Company
My team and I all bonded well and had 'banter' within the work office. We played some silly games every now and again and also went out for lunch all together on special occasions such as birthdays.
A dedicated team was in place to help with all our queries. A mentor system is also set in place in case we need to talk to someone outside of our team.
Training for systems like excel was organised and presentation training also to help develop our individual skill set.
Flexi Time
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
I would love a placement back at Vauxhall however I know it is very competitive and as there is no official graduate scheme in place the chances of gaining the placment are less than at other placements.
The Culture
As so many of us are employed there were plenty of times to socialize and many events were organised. Especially so over the handover period between the new undergrads and the old undergrads where there is an action packed two weeks of social events.
Average prices for a town near london. Great access to transport as the airport is so close!
Not the best locoally. However there are opportunities to go on nights out in London and Watford.
Activities like findraisers such as the London to Brighton bike ride. Great team atmosphere!
