Overview
The first day was a virtual session with panels and keynote speakers sharing their day to day experiences, career development journey and advice. The second day was an engagement event in the office also with panels and networking sessions with the associates and seniors of the firm, ending with a mock assesment centre task.
Skills
Yes. I learnt about enhancing my self-confidence and networking skills. Learning to be agile and a team player to collaborate with others, appreciating everyone's diverse thoughts and ideas during the mock assessment centre also allowed me to appreciate the diversity and creativity that working in a group offers.
Business Insight
It was very encouraging to see the supportive network that the firm has to offer, evidenced by the different networks and support groups that they have. Their focus on the people, their wellbeing and mental health is also inspiring as they believe that without taking care of their people, the quality of the work produced will not be good. There are many avenues and departments to work in and there is flexibility in mobility among departments - there is also upskilling and educational or professional certification support provided.
Culture
It was very supportive: everyone mentioned that the people was the reason why they want to continue working in the firm. Everyone is also very vocal in speaking up about their opportunities, taking upon themselves to encourage each other and develop their own career. The office was also a conducive space, and accessible facilities.
Your Impressions
It was very enjoyable. Not only did I get a glimpse into the company culture, but also do gain insights and tips on how to pursue and secure opportunities. The company employees, friends and networks that I formed as a result of the programme was also very meaningful.
Yes
Prepare well; know the department that you are applying too; be honest and genuine about your strengths, and show your willingness to learn.
