Overview
The first two days gave an overview of Morgan Stanley through talks, panel discussions and a charity project. The final two days were division specific and we had workshops with people in the division as well as an individual project.
Skills
Developed my communication skills through networking and learnt more technicals surrounding the division I was in
Business Insight
We did not get much of an overview of the other divisions. The insight was mainly focused around the division that you have applied for.
Culture
The culture seems very collaborative and meritocratic, but you can also tell that their work is quite intense.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed meeting new people on the insight. But it was also quite intense, especially on the final two days. We were assigned a project and only given one night to prepare, which meant that everyone pulled all-nighters to finish the assignment. So it was intense and somewhat stressful, but that is expected from a high-performing company like Morgan Stanley. So, all in all, I am grateful for the insight because it did truly give an insight into banking and Morgan Stanley.
Yes
Choose the division that you apply for carefully, because you really need to be passionate about the division you choose to successfully convert to the summer internship.
