Overview
The insight involved talks from people working in FIC and O&A. We were also given industry specific training and stimulations which were helpful in gaining more technical knowledge.
Skills
Definitely developed more technicals skills such as understanding what a market maker does. I also developed my communication skills through networking and M&A stimulations.
Business Insight
We were not given an overview of all divisions at DB, just the divisions within the investment bank (through talks, stimulations, training, desk shadowing etc.). This was very helpful as it could compare FIC and O&A and decide where my skill set is better placed.
Culture
The company culture seemed welcoming and everyone was happy to answer any questions I had.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed the insight because it gave me a good understanding of investment banking and now I am better placed to decide which division to apply for the summer internship.
Yes
Try to brush up on some technical knowledge before coming on the spring because, while there is training, the training is quite intensive so it would be helpful to have some understanding before coming.
