Overview
The insight day consisted of 2 days in office, being presented with various panels, workshops and networking sessions, both generalist and designated for Tax & Law students only. On the third day, we were tasked with the Launchpad assessment centre which was the gateway assessment for the 2025 Vacation Scheme. It consisted of a group task which was assessed by two employees and then a 50minute in person interview with a member of your designated area of the business.
Skills
I have developed upon my existing skills of teamwork, as I was tasked with working in a team group discussion for the launchpad assessment centre. As well as this I have developed the skill of communication, as I presented my analysis and thoughts in to the rest of my peers in various exciting workshops. On the other hand I also developed my commercial awareness when I shadowed various workers within the Tax and Law division
Business Insight
It was great to learn about the different divisions at KPMG, however most of the information was focused around the major lines of businesses. Either Consulting, Tax/Law or Audit. We did not get much information about various lines of businesses in Deals Advisory which I believe most people were interested in. I myself am highly interested in Deals Advisory and we did not get much information about potential roles available and I could not apply to it for the 2025 Vacation Scheme
Culture
The culture of KPMG was amazing
Your Impressions
I enjoyed to a great extent
Yes
Advice would be just to be authentic as possible, they are not expecting people to know everything about the niche divisions, but just show a general interest. It is very important to be a cultural fit
