Overview
The scheme was 2 weeks, each week sitting in a different practice area. There were presentations on every practice area and top deals the firm had been involved in. Each week there was a research task based on which practice area you were in. There was an opportunity to get involved in live client matters.
Skills
I have developed my communication skills, as there were many people to get to know both at Latham and amongst my fellow vac schemers. My time management skills have been honed as well as the two weeks were very busy.
Business Insight
All the presentation were super insightful, and you could ask further questions or follow up with the speaker if you were interested. The talks also covered areas such as committees, business development, training and mentorship.
Culture
Everyone at Latham is super welcoming and friendly. Most trainees and associates were happy to chat to vac schemers about their work when available. I had a great time with both my supervisors, who were always willing to answer all my questions, give me real work and provide guidance where necessary.
Your Impressions
The vacation scheme was really enjoyable! There were lots of social events for both networking and getting to know people at the firm. Throughout the scheme, Graduate Recruitment were on hand to make sure everyone was ok with the research tasks and the TC interview preparation. It was really insightful and enjoyable two weeks at the firm.
Yes
