Overview
I got an insight into the current cases the firm was dealing with and got involved with research regarding procedural questions and other administrative tasks. Additionally, I produced summaries for matters relevant to the client. On a day-to-day basis I got background information about the cases and the legal framework and got to deal with case-related questions, which were then reviewed by my supervisors.
Skills
I definitely developed my research skills - I conducted research on a topic completely unfamiliar to me, summarized the main points, presented them in a coherent manner and got to apply them to the case. Additionally, I learned how to produce a concise summary for shareholders, developing a better understanding about what clients want to know/ not know.
Business Insight
It was very insightful learning about how the business operates (such as business development strategy). Additionally, I was amazed by how many internal roles exist regarding executive work, within the departments and non-fee earning work such as pro-bono or professional support lawyers.
Culture
It was extremely friendly and supportive. I always felt like I can approach everyone with my questions and even though everyone is very busy, they took the time to chat to me/ answer my questions. I felt very supported during my time and found the people at HSF very friendly and sociable.

Be yourself! I found that HSF picks a very positive, smart and hardworking type of personal - but always the kind of people one can get along with. I found that made a difference during the interview process.
