Overview
Designing optical transmission systems across the companies core optical network. Involves problem solving and critical thinking to design the solution that works best for the customer's requirements.
Skills
Problem solving and critical thinking skills have been developed the most in my time. Have also developed communication skills, team working and organisational skills.
Responsibilities
At the start of the placement it was slow, but have been given more responsibility in the later stages
Support & Guidance
Lots of support systems are in place, each intern has their line manager, a buddy in their team, a mentor outside of their team and a couple of scheme leads.
Culture
Company was very supportive in my time there, any time I asked for help within my team someone was willing to give up their time.
Your Impressions
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time, there have been lots of social events to allow you to get to know other interns better. As well as allowing you to meet people outside of your scheme.
