Overview
My role is to speak with customers on a weekly basis and make sure we are abiding by the contract requirements and terms set out. To make sure pricing is correct and we have everything we need before it is sent for the customer to review. To hold internal meetings to make sure each department is happy with a contract amendment etc.
Skills
I have gained confidence to speak to new individuals, I have also developed existing skills of customer service, excel usage and sorting between important information to information that is not needed. All skills have been developed within this placement and I have also learnt new skills that I did not realise I had such as being able to hold meetings and talking on the relevant information.
Responsibilities
My placement was in two different departments, it was a very slow start in the first department however I was eventually given more responsibility. Going into the second department I was dropped in the deep end and given a lot of responsibility and worked towards this and I have now been given even more responsibility.
Support & Guidance
I have received a lot of support from my buddy (two different buddies due to two different departments), support from my manager, support from my line manager and also support from the entire team when my manager or buddy is not available.
Culture
The culture and atmosphere has been brilliant, there are many openings for women and also talks/meetings held on this to get women networking with the wider community.
Your Impressions
I have thoroughly enjoyed my placement, I came in not knowing a lot about what the business done, I knew somethings but not a lot. I have more in-depth knowledge and have gained a lot of skills throughout this year.
