Overview
Start 07:45, get logged in and get a view of how many reservations there are, serve customers when in the branch take phone calls and chase admin and internal training, when out the branch collecting/ delivering cars going to other branches to swap cars and picking up and dropping off customers
Skills
Communication, telephone handling, management skills, marketing skills and Sales skills, also customer service and time management
Responsibilities
Given lots of different Branch captaincy roles within specific areas and rotated after you have performed in the role, such as a Claims captain looking after the claims of damage to our cars or a Growth captain in charge of growing our branch with new and repeat business spend from our corporate accounts, so lots of responsibility given
Support & Guidance
Lots of support if you were to ask for it, only 2 mentor meetings throughout the year which I thought was low as I could have done with some more guidance from staff outside of where I was stationed the training was very thorough, and lots of hands on learning which in my opinion is the best way to learn
Culture
High pressure and stress work environment due to the fast paced nature of the business and pressure to perform culture, lots of mandatory overtime as a standard, but staff in general and the people who work there are very supportive and like minded so teams are very close and friendly with each other as you rely on your team members a lot
Your Impressions
I felt like my placement developed a lot of skills very quickly as you have to be a Jack of all Trades, I would have enjoyed it more if I had been moved to a location closer to home and also if the overtime amount was lower
Yes
Be prepared for a lot of hard work fast with long hours + overtime but also you are given the opportunity to perform and develop lots of different skills to help you advance your career whether that be within Enterprise or outside of it
