  • Using government legislation, policy and external legal counsels to support individuals and teams with immigration requirements. Also a number of administrative tasks, such as case-tracking, project management and auditing. Working globally with a number of different countries.

  • Project and case management, establishing & maintaining professional relationships, drafting, critical thinking skills, navigating complex rules and laws, financial understanding, advising (including fee quotes), legal research, using legal software.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Yes, I have had the opportunity to take on a number of cases by myself and attend a couple of in-person immigration checks. I am able to plan my tasks independently and work through them in an order that works for me.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • Working on a small team, I was able to have direct access to my supervisor when needed and another member of the UK team. I was also able to complete some work for our US team, who also offered me great support and guidance.

  • The company culture and atmosphere is fantastic. As interns, you have many opportunities and are welcomed from the beginning.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I really enjoyed my placement. I found it extremely useful for my career and it helped me figure out where I would like to take my career in the future. I built a number of skills which I would not have gained as an undergraduate just doing my degree all the way through. I have met many new people who have offered help and guidance when I need it.

  • Show you interest in the media and entertainment/creative industry as well as your desire to work in that particular role. Also it is important to show that you are a well-rounded individual with outside interests, bar your academic and career interests.
