    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • - Analysing the anti-counterfeit and enforcement side of IP; - Renewing and filing trademarks through the UKIPO; - Drafting C&D letters; - Research and drafting takedown notices for projects within the business; - Administrative support The day-to-day role varies greatly, which is what makes it an exciting role. Some days are solely researching, some days I present my research and discuss the legal implications of a certain action, and other days are purely catching up on administrative tasks.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I was given much more responsibility than I anticipated, which I loved. At the start, the training was extensive which helped me greatly because I felt comfortable learning the existing structures and frameworks. Once my supervisors learned that I could handle and perform on more advanced projects, I was given a large degree of autonomy. However, I still feel supported because every substantive task is discussed in a collaborative setting and my team is always there if I have questions.
