Overview
My day-to-day involves coordinating with both internal designers and external creative agencies to move creative projects along, making sure that deadlines are being met, scope is being followed, and that our brand guidelines are respected. I also manage approvals, to ensure that the creative assets developed in London are given the go ahead by the business globally. I also deal with admin tasks, such as organising meetings, raising purchase orders & approving invoices. But the bulk of the job is project management - i.e. overseeing the development of creative projects from A-Z.
Skills
All in all, I've learned how to manage projects from beginning to end, including process mapping, creating briefs, resource and budget management, stakeholder communications and approval workflows. I've learned how to communicate effectively with colleagues and vendors, improved my Keynote & Microsoft Office skills, learned how to utilise SAP, and have additionally been able to build on my presentation skills.
Responsibilities
Yes - as an intern you are treated as a fellow employee and given enough responsibility to challenge you, but always in moderation and according to your capabilities at that moment in time.
Support & Guidance
I received lots of support from my line manager and worked closely with them every day, having weekly sessions to discuss my progress both in terms of work tasks and personal development. The early careers team also organised a fantastic induction day as well as training sessions to help with onboarding, but the support was less prominent after the first 2-3 months.
Culture
A creative, supportive environment to work in. The teams in this division are all very welcoming and encouraging, always willing to help out or have a chat when needed. It's fast-paced and busy, but people are considerate of your time & circumstances. There's no dress code which helps the environment feel less stiff & corporate.
Your Impressions
I very much enjoyed my internship here. It gave me the opportunity to get involved in many tangible projects and get hands-on experience in the licensing & entertainment industry. The work was fulfilling and I had a supportive manager & team members. I also had the opportunity to network with colleagues all over the world as well as in other NBCU divisions, giving me a wider taste of the career opportunities both at the company & in the industry as a whole.

Make sure to research the company, its values and employee initiatives, in order to understand what appeals to you about working here. Additionally, research the business division you are applying to in order to get an overview of what its function is and how it fits into the overall company. Think about your unique attributes that you can bring to the role; your existing skills but also what you'd like to discover/get better at. Be curious.
