    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • A variety of tasks depending on the stage of marketing campaign delivery. Some regular tasks include the below: - Over seeing delivery and receipt of key marketing assets - Adapting assets to be localised for our target markets - Administration tasks and team coordination - Using Financial systems - SAP, APEX Sim, raising purchase orders - Creating film campaign decks and presentations both for internal use and external use with filmmakers - Liasing with external agencies such as creative agencies and media agencies - Communicating with our PR team to coordinate delivering screening links to key press contacts and film festivals

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • There have been multiple opportunities to develop presentation, management and organisation skills. I have developed a better understanding for the need to adapt communication styles to align with who you are communicating with, specifically developing skills to clearly and effectively communicate with external partners and make sure projects can be aligned. Time management and adaptation skills have also been improved through the need to be flexible to accomodate any urgent work or meetings whilst maintaining a high standard of work performance and staying on track to complete pre-exisiting tasks at their deadlines.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Yes I have had the opportunity to lead on some individual tasks throughout my internship which have been key in supporting the delivery of principle marketing campaigns. As I have progressed throughout the placement year I have been trusted with more authority and have been delegated with more responsibility, recently being depended upon for the selection of social media ambassadors across multiple territories to spearhead the delivery of an organic social campaign.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • I have recieved a lot of support throughout this placement. With regular 1to1 meetings with my manager to align on projects and support from all members of the team if there are any queries. The handover period from the previous placement interns to us however could have been slightly longer as there was a lot of content to learn in a fairly short period of time.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • You can tell that the company values its employees through its culture. I have been trusted to meet deadlines and never felt pressured from the team or overly observed, whilst knowing that support is always there if I need it. The overall atmosphere in the office is very relaxed with no strict clothing regulations and lots of employee perks such as free drinks, fruit and a mixture of working zones from individual desks to more casual seating areas.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here and will be very sad to leave at the end of my placement. It has been a wonderful year and it has provided me the perfect entry into the world of work. I have been able to learn and explore the industry through the multiple opportunities provided and been supported to grow my network for future opportunites.

  • You can tell that this company cares for its employees and that the employees care about the business due to a genuine interest in film and media. When applying try to show this interest and why you are keen to work here as much as possible throughout your application.
