As Franchise Marketing Intern, everyday was different! Conducted market research of key competitors and brand analysis. Copywriting and providing feedback for influencers. Managing daily finances.
Skills
From this internship, I can now: Confidently manage marketing campaigns across markets. Understand how to communicate professionally. The importance of maintaining a brand's voice and bringing this into it's content. Copywriting. Influencer management. Shipping products and costumes internationally. How the entertainment industry works. How paid social campaigns work on Meta. Managaing day to day finances of a team.
Responsibilities
Yes, I was essentially treated like a coordinator/executive. This is exactly what I wanted, as in the future when I go for jobs with these titles, I will have loads of skills to talk to. I had full responsibility over multiple marketing campaigns, asset development and actively talked/ presented in meetings. I feel I am now more than capable of going onto a permanent jobs in the marketing industry. My team were the best.
Support & Guidance
I received so much support from my team, and am so thankful to them for everything I experienced. In the beginning, the previous intern trained me on her day-to-day, which was great to learn from a peer perspective. But whenever I had a question or challenging moment , my hiring manager was nothing but helpful, and taught me so much in my career both here and for the future. Overall, a great team for placement
Culture
It was great! Working for NBCUniversal of course comes with great media perks, such as screenings, merchandise (especially working in products), and exciting experiences. In the overall department, they were very open to talking and we had amazing team socials! My advice: Make the most of it and talk to everyone, as everyone is so lovely and will help you in anyway they can :)
Your Impressions
Long story short, I loved my placement! I always knew I wanted to enter this industry, and this was the best opportunity for me. I have learned invaluable skills, whilst working with brands I love, so felt very passionate towards my work. The Franchise team are the best, I couldn't have imagined being with any other team or position. I would love to return to a similar role like this, you will love NBCUniversal!
