Product (Hayu) Intern Review

As a Product Manager for the Hayu streaming service, we work in a team to improve and maintain the platform on its various streaming devices. To do this, we look at user experience, user interface, and work with our developers on feature projects that improve these things. Day-to-day, we work in line with our developers and have daily meetings with them to discuss their work, priorities and next steps. As a Product Manager, we lead each project into the direction we want for them.

Since we are leaders of our projects, my skills in leadership have certainly developed, including my decision-making skills. Additionally, my communication skills as we often communicate with our various stakeholders and other teams within the business. In terms of technical skills I've learned, that would include user experience, user interface, app development and design, and managment.

My team is very small, so my role was quite significant. I was treated as another Product Manager, not just an intern. My team ensured to give me tasks where I would learn the most and had a significant impact.

My team were always there to support and answer any questions I had. The Early Careers team were also a great support in encouraging myself and the other interns throughout the placement.

The very welcoming and friendly culture makes NBCUniversal a pleasant place to work. Everyone is encouraging, and the schemes throughout the company help to maintain this, and build relationships.

I've enjoyed this placement to a very high extent; I feel like I have learned so much and have had a very helpful and encouraging team who have taught me so much.
