Internship Review

It shadowed me with the systematic auditing procedures and daily tasks as an auditor in PwC to deepen my understanding in what is auditing and therefore help me to prepare for my future career paths better. Meanwhile, by networking with colleagues from different lines of services, I realized the core valuation and purpose of PwC. This program encouraged me to integrate into the workplace in PwC and get practice with basic tasks.

Yes, I improved my ExCel skills significantly during this programme. By assisting my buddy in checking out the inconsistencies between different versions of balance sheets and mapping various transactions to corresponding categories, I can utilize ExCeL sheets more efficiently. Meanwhile, I was showed the use of Aura Platinum which operates professional auditing tests. I am confident that I can get used to it in future internship work if necessary.

After understanding different lines of services and corresponding job responsibilities, I realized the diverse possibilities in my future career. This inspired me to rethink what job I would like to apply in PwC in the future. After reviewing all the information got, I regard myself as matching auditing more perfectly. Overall understanding just makes things more clear when I plan for my career.

PwC follows their purposes in work. Firstly, auditors work with integrity and provide professional and continuously improved services to clients, making a difference for a better world. Secondly, PwC successfully builds an inclusive and collaborative working environment. As a fresher, I felt free to ask questions and got a lot of help during the program. Finally, I realized PwC supports employee’s personal development in many ways such as funding the training for ACCA.

I enjoyed the Insight program in many ways. Firstly, I have an excellent buddy who was always willing to guide me patiently and build my confidence as a newcomer. Secondly, I enjoyed communicating with colleagues from different backgrounds. Such opportunities built a relaxed atmosphere for networking. Therefore, I could ask my confusions more freely and break up my misconceptions about some unfamiliar jobs. They provided me with many useful suggestions for career planning as well.

Spending more time browsing the PwC website and learning their culture and purpose are necessary. Be clear about the aim of the programme you are applying for. Moreover, basic mathematical logic and problem-solving abilities are required. When doing the online tests, just share your own opinions, PwC always embraces diversity and welcomes people from different backgrounds.
