Overview
The insight was really enjoyable and an eye opener into PwC and the financial realm. Each day consisted on introductory/catch up talks with members in the Tax sector, who explained their roles, their origin & how the got into PwC. Additionally, I was able to attend meetings & follow ups on PwC’s letter to the IA on suggestions on how to improve factors such as the gender pay gap
Skills
I have strengthened & gained many transferable skills, as well as financially specific skills. Coming from a biomedical science background, skills such as critical thinking and strong evaluative skills are required, and the insight week really enhanced them. Additionally, I learnt many financial terms and how PwC operates & builds strong relations which clients interpersonally, which I have been able to gain
Business Insight
There are many roles at PwC and it’s not as rigid as I expected (which is something I admire about the company). You are able to gain skills to work in different subsection of workforces
Culture
My expectation were proven wrong & were exceeded. There is diversity (which is something PwC really integrates within the firm), which made me feel more comfortable. The people are very friendly & talkative, which gives the essence of a community. The architecture is beautiful and the office spaces are well planned
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed it. As I come from a scientific background, I was scared that I would only partly enjoy it, however each day was better than the last
Yes
Just be yourself! PwC focussed a lot on skill set and personality rather than just qualification. If you show you are a bright individual who is willing to learn & build the company up, you are already PwC material
