The Role
I have thoroughly enjoyed my year here at Warner Bros and will be disappointed to leave. It has been an invaluable experience and I have learnt an enormous amount during my time here which will undoubtedly help me in the future. Not only has it been educational it has been fun and I would recommend a placement here to anyone.
I have felt valued by people here at Warner Bros and think that I have made some genuine friends during my time here. My relationship with my boss in particular has been a pleasure which has made working here all the more pleasant. Not encountered an even marginally unfriendly face in my whole year here and felt comfortable from the off.
Been told from the first day that there is no such thing as a stupid question and that's something that has been apparent ever since. It's been clear that team ethic is vital here, so its a two way street in terms of support so its easier to ask for help or identify when my help may be required. Help has been at hand immediately when required, as well as being kept up to date on everything to do with the company even if it doesn't directly relate to the job at hand, in order to feel more involved with other people and their jobs.
I feel like I've had the most perfectly balanced workload possible during my time here; I can honestly say I've never had nothing to do, whilst never being so busy that I've had to stay late once. A relaxed, honest attitude is encouraged here, so the workload never really surpasses that of which you are capable. Deadlines are set and comfortably met, and good delegation from the manager ensures that people are pulling their weight whilst remaining stress-free.
I would send reports out to management across the globe, so in that respect there is a lot of responsibility. All reports are proof read back and forth, meaning that any report the manager sends is proof read by me and any thing I send is proof read by my manager. This doesn't take away any responsibility, because essentially you are still responsible for the work you send out; its just a way to ensure silly mistakes are avoided.
I think the skills I developed during my time at Warner Bros. will help me immensely with my studies and beyond. I think particularly in my studies, because a new work ethic and organisational skills have been developed greatly, which I think will become invaluable new skills when tackling my final year at university. Beyond that, I feel that my time here has allowed me to feel prepared for future jobs, I feel like this year has taken away the fear that may have been there before, and that I can walk into my first day at a new job with complete confidence in my ability, as well as what to expect.
The Company
The floor that I worked on was very quiet, owing to the fact that it was mainly offices with hardly any open spaces. Combined with the fact that I am the only intern on the floor, it makes for a fairly quiet and contained atmosphere. Sometimes it can get dull, but fortunately my manager regularly enforces breaks outside, which break up the day and allow you to refresh. Also my manager and I really like television, so conversation was constantly flowing when the chance arose.
Completely seamless, training was well organised and efficient, there were no problems with contracts, or anything to do with interns in fact. I can honestly say that not one problem was encountered this year in regards to the set up of the internship.
In terms of personal training it was exceptional. The training sessions were fairly regular, but they were fun as well as informative. It gave the interns a chance to bond, as well as learn new things about their surroundings and themselves, and I personally found them really useful.

There is no graduate scheme at Warner Bros; however they do keep e-mail addresses of past interns and they get in touch when a job that may suit them becomes available. Quite encouragingly, the intern who was here before me has already got a job back with the company. I think that whilst this is quite a rare occurence (for it to happen so quickly), it certainly is encouraging to see that it can happen.
The Culture
The social scene was great here at Warner Bros., there are around 40 interns that take a placement here each year, so its near on impossible not to find someone you get on with. Everyday we meet up for lunch either at the canteen downstairs, and e-mails are always sent round to everyone if a night out is being organised or if its someones birthday, and nights out are a fairly regular occurence.
I live in London so I can't comment on the living side of things as I moved back home for the year. However the cost to go out in London can be quite expensive; knowing where to go is essential to spending your money wisely and having a good time. Drinks are almost always extortionate, so knowing where to go before a night out is a must.
The nightlife is amazing, there is something for everyone in London, so its impossible to find yourself bored on a weekend. Nights out can be expensive, as mentioned above, but if you find the right place you can have a great night out without spending too much money.
Yes. There are many things that are available to staff at Warner Bros, including things called a Lunch'n'Learn, which involve free lunch whilst someone comes in and teaches staff about something, whether thats about a closely affiliated company, or a business subject that may interest. In terms of fun there were loads of activities put on for charity, including a comedy night which was a huge success.
