    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my placement, the job wasn't too challenging and I felt comfortable in every aspect of the job once my placement came to a close. The work can be quite repetitive at times; but you would expect that in any job.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I had a very good relationship with my colleagues and hierarchy, and even played football with my MD and operations manager; a good office environment.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Working in pairs with a BDM, it gives you a lot of guidance in you're early working weeks. Other members of staff are always willing to help if you are struggling as we well

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • The majority of the time I was busy, certain times of the year it can slow, but that's due to less enquiries coming through and not that you are not delegated work.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • You are given real responsibility and you certainly don't take the back seat. Often dealing with real issues and problems that can occur on orders.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I learnt general office skills that will aid you in the future, like time delegation and confidence when dealing with people. In terms of learning theories relating to my degree this wasn't the case.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The office had a great environment, as the majority were under 30. In months when we were above target the morale is extremely high and is a fun working environment.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The placement is fairly well set up; in terms of having a programme this isn't the case, as when you leave the training room you are go straight into your duties.

    3/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • You have the 2 week training period at the beginning and then supplier product meetings, but apart from that there is no other training. But this training is sufficient enough for the job role.

    3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Sports and Social Club

    Company Parties/Events

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • This was a good experience but not something I would like to have a career in.

    2/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • I would compare the social life to University but working 9 - 5.30 rather lectures. The social life is the selling point of the placement.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Being just outside London the living costs are not cheap, but you get by.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • The clubs aren't great, but you have Reading and Windsor a stones throw away. The night life is what you make of it and with the other placement students I always enjoyed myself.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • We played football every week and entered into a tournament. Our MD also arranged a boat party for us as well. As with the other interns there is always an activity happening

    4/5
