Overview
My day to day role is going through multiple data sheets, from SLOBs to tracking shipments. Then notifying any issues within the system. With this data I then digitalize it into PowerBI and share reports with stakeholders.
Skills
New skills I have learnt: Excel Pivot Tables, Oracle Cloud, Oracle Analytics, PowerBI
Responsibilities
I feel like I was given a great amount of responsibility. Senior Leadership gave me the responsibility of presenting to the supply chain of my sector, around 150 people.
Support & Guidance
I was very lucky to have a very supportive Line Manager who dedicated a lot of time to help me advance. Everyone was very supportive and patient with the new IPs. I believe this is one of key reasons why I would recommend a Unilever placement to students.
Culture
There are many IP events at the start, which were great to meet and socialise with new people! For example, the Brand Cascade for my team was the 2nd week of being at the company! I met so many people from different teams and it helped for future tasks.
Your Impressions
I have really enjoy my placement at Unilever. I didn't expect to gain so much experience within a year. I feel the company give the IPs a lot of responsibility, which is the best way for IPs to grow and develop as a person!
Yes
I would maximise the opportunity and take on as much responsibility as possible. If you get involved with multiple projects, you are going to learn a lot quicker and be exposed to external teams!
