Overview
I work closely with the supply chain team, and procurement team most days. Daily tasks include looking after the store planograms for the cake fridge and sandwich fridge displays, working with suppliers to help ensure products are delivered into stores, and work on ranging of our different products. Some of the projects I have been involved in are deciding on Range and Pricing for our festival tent, and having input on our summer drinks range for 2024.
Skills
I have learnt how to speak with suppliers, and other people external to the business. But have also developed my confidence skills, through speaking both with people in my team, and external. I have also developed my IT skills through using excel on a daily basis to update product and supplier spreadsheets.
Responsibilities
I was given responsibility to look after a number of spreadsheets and daily emails sent to the business, along with being responsible for the food planograms sent to store each month.
Support & Guidance
I was given lots of support, both from my line manager, and the wider team. I was given catch ups with my line manager to discuss my ongoing tasks and progress, and also had a few meetings with HR at the beginning to ensure I had settled in, and was able to raise any queries or worries I had.
Culture
The Culture in the Nero Head Office has been great. There are many Head Office events to socialise with other people in the office, and from stores. The general atmosphere in the office is good, and the people are very friendly!
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed my placement with Nero, I feel I have gained and developed many skills in over the last 11 months, and have enjoyed the projects and tasks I have carried out.
Yes
You will be working with different people and on different projects, all of which will give you an insight into the different job opportunities, and help develop different skills. There is also the opportunity to get involved with many different teams and activities in the office, which I have found beneficial.
