Overview
Mostly involves updating documents, raising POs for the team and administrative work like booking rooms/meeting catering for superiors. Some interns get to do fun things like go to premieres and junkets with celebrities but that was never my experience, it all depends on if your team put you forward to do that - every team is different.
Skills
Ive learnt a lot about professionalism in the workplace and workplace culture/politics. In terms of skills, I have been able to do my own research projects and develop attention to detail when making powerpoint/keynote slides for the team.
Responsibilities
There were periods of time when I felt very overwhelmed by the team giving me so many tasks/responsibilities and then periods where I had literally nothing to do. It all depends on your team and the deadlines coming up for them.
Support & Guidance
My team did not really acknowledge me as their intern unless they needed a job done so I wouldn't say there was much support and guidance. However, I know that a lot of other teams were really really supportive of their interns, offering them opportunities and taking an interest in their plans for the future. All depends on the team you get.
Culture
Really fun and vibrant place to work. Employees are all really really friendly, I never really got an intimidation vibe from anyone in the company. There's always giveaways, competitions and events going on in the office so you really get that 'Disney-experience'. The food is great and cheap and people seem to really like working there. Overall, I think general atmosphere was positive. Amongst interns, everyone is super friendly and supportive of each other.
Your Impressions
It's a great experience to have on your CV and for future career opportunities. I wouldn't say that I will be looking to come back though and work here full-time. I would definitely recommend anyone to do it as benefits outweigh the hard parts (especially if you have a super-friendly and inclusive team).
Yes
Definitely go for it! It's a great placement. I would say don't compare your placement to other interns - some people had a great time and others had different experiences.
