Overview
I am a Technology Consultant which involves software development following using agile methodologies. We work for clients on a wide range of projects developing mostly websites and apps.
Skills
I have learned a lot about developing websites and apps. I am a much better programmer and am so much more independent when writing code. I have also learned a lot about the agile methodologies and how to use them working in a team.
Responsibilities
It's very much dependent on how able you are when going into something. I had a coding background from uni so only spent a little bit of time training and then was given responsibility with my own work tickets, which I was comfortable with.
Support & Guidance
There was plenty of support available. I could literally ask anyone on my team a question and they would be more than happy to help me out.
Culture
The culture is that you go into the office maybe around twice maybe once a week, which is fine. In general everyone on my floor was very friendly all the time.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed my placement a lot. Some months were busier than others, but there wasn't any days where I wanted to leave!
Yes
While being a tech company, it's not so much about technical ability and much more about how you come across as a person. They are looking for well spoken and logical induviduals who can solve problems.
