Overview
Working projects to try and improve the manufacturing process of wings. Working lineside and office based with others to achieve common goals.
Skills
Self confidence, reliability and hard working are all skills which are tested and developed throughout the placement.
Responsibilities
Responsibility is shared almost immediately and you work day-to-day on projects which do contribute to the future of the business and how things operate on site.
Support & Guidance
There are plenty of people to reach out to for help where needed as you aren't expected to know everything straight away. You also have multiple managers and potential mentors on site which can help you. The large volume of early careers members boost these opportunities.
Culture
There is good general comradery between workers as well as the understanding of the importance of doing things right.
Your Impressions
A placement is a mixed bag as it is a first experience of a new industry and that comes with its own challenges as well as the transition from being a student. I'd say the people have been the best part of the placement but feeling like you have contributed for the better makes it even more worthwhile.
Yes
Showcase your teamworking and reliability as those are two key lessons that really do get tested in the workplace.
